2014 em álbuns

Apercebi-me, aos poucos, de que ouço muito mais álbuns que considero bons ou medianos do que álbuns excelentes. A perfeição ajuda-me a tornar claro aquilo de que gosto, mas, muitas vezes, não me permite a visita ao interior da obra, às lutas por que passaram os artistas, aos compromissos que tiveram de fazer, e, sobretudo, não me dá que pensar no que poderia fazer para melhorar o que estou a ouvir.

A este propósito lembro-me, por exemplo, de ter ouvido muitíssimas vezes o álbum Five miles out, do Mike Oldfield – um disco tépido e a esfriar. Nunca consegui imaginar um resultado melhor do que o cristalizado em disco, mas, enquanto tentava, como que entrei na cabeça de um Oldfield da minha lavra e percebi por que razão aquele disco tinha acabado por soar assim.

2014, por ter sido um ano de poucos álbuns excelentes, levou-me a pensar novamente nisto. KIN (←→), do Pat Metheny Unity Group, é um disco suberbo; contudo, ouvi e penso vir a ouvir muitas mais vezes um álbum como Phosphorescent dream, dos Univers Zero. Para além da guitarra dessincronizada com os restantes instrumentos, no tema que dá título ao álbum, há ainda muitos ritmos estéreis à espera de serem povoados por melodias, ou a pedirem a anexação de ritmos complementares – isto, claro, dentro da minha cabeça.

O sistema de qualificação desta lista processa-se em dois planos: um geral, constituído por cinco níveis (de A a F), e um outro, respeitante a cada um desses cinco, constituído por outros três (de A a C). Desta forma penso tornar-se mais óbvio aquilo que penso em relação a cada título, procurando atenuar diferenças entre, por exemplo, o primeiro e o último álbum classificados com AA, e realçá-las entre, por exemplo, o último álbum com a classificação AA e o primeiro com AB.
